The Burj Khalifa. The tallest building in the world. It is both an amazing feat of engineering and architecture. To hold such a huge amount of steel, concrete and glass up, a large amount of engineering and architectural designs were incorporated, from the simple "step" structuring - as the tower goes up, at certain point there is a step inwards so that it takes on the shape of a steeple - to the innovation of a new structural system known as a buttressed core.
As you can see, it also creates an immense contrast with the landscape. The tallest, newest and arguably one of the most expensive buildings in the world in a desert...
